Stop guessing graphics settings. Measure them.
FrameForge tries different graphics settings in your game, counts your real frame rate each time, and shows you the fastest combination that still looks the way you want. It all happens on your own PC. No account, no internet, nothing uploaded.
"Ultra", "High", "Medium" don't know your PC
A modern game has 10–20 graphics settings, each with 3–5 levels. That's hundreds of thousands of possible combinations. How much each one costs depends on your graphics card, your processor and the part of the game you're in. Presets ignore all of that, and testing by hand takes evenings.
Some settings cost a lot, some almost nothing
Lowering a setting that's cheap on your PC makes the game uglier and no faster. You can only tell which ones matter by measuring.
Your eyes aren't a frame counter
A 10% difference is hard to feel in one try, and every test run differs a little. Comparing settings fairly takes careful, repeated measuring.
Online guides are for someone else's PC
"Best settings" videos are measured on the creator's hardware, in their scene, on that week's game version.
Four steps. You just play.
FrameForge does the changing, launching, measuring and comparing. You go to the same spot in the game and press F9 each time.
Pick a game and a goal
Smoothest, Balanced or Best looking. Then use a slider to set how much picture quality must be kept.
Play a minute, press F9
FrameForge starts the game. You go to a busy spot and press F9. It counts frames for 40–90 seconds (you choose).
It picks the next test
The game closes, the Smart Tuner chooses the next settings to try, and the game restarts. Up to 8, 12 or 20 tests (you choose). It stops early when it expects no further gain.
Check, then decide
The winner and your original settings are both measured once more. You see before/after numbers and every changed setting. You choose whether to use them.
Each test takes about a minute of play plus however long the game takes to load. Plan on 15–30 minutes for a full session. You can stop at any time and your original settings come back.
Answers about your PC, not someone else's
Only the settings that matter on your PC get lowered
FrameForge measures what each change actually does on your hardware, in your scene. Settings that cost you nothing stay high.
- You set a minimum picture quality. Settings below it are never chosen.
- The result lists every setting that changed, before and after, with a plain-language explanation.
- If your settings are already the fastest for your chosen quality, FrameForge says so and changes nothing.
Average frame rateHow many frames per second on average, measured with Intel PresentMon.
Slowest 1% of framesThe moments you feel as stutter. Shown next to the average, because a high average can hide hitches.
Measured twiceFinal numbers average two runs. A gain smaller than the difference between two runs of the same settings isn't reported as a gain.
Fewer tests than trying settings one by one
Trying every combination is impossible, and changing one setting at a time misses how settings affect each other. The Smart Tuner learns from each test you play and picks the next one where it expects the most gain.
- Runs on your PC using TabPFN, an AI model built to learn from very small data tables.
- Uses the uncertainty of its predictions, so it tests settings that are both promising and informative.
- If the AI part can't start, a simpler built-in tuner takes over so your session isn't lost.
What the Smart Tuner tells you between tests
"The Smart Tuner thinks this could reach about N FPS (P% chance it beats your best so far)."
This is a prediction used only to choose the next test. The numbers on your final result are measured, never predicted.
Your games and your PC come first
These are the protections built into the app's code, and their limits.
Backup before any change
The game's settings file is copied before anything else happens. Your original settings are put back after every session, whether it finishes, you stop it, or it fails.
If FrameForge or your PC shuts down mid-test, the original file is restored the next time FrameForge starts.
Checks that changes really applied
After each test FrameForge reads the settings file again. If the game put any value back, that test isn't counted. If it happens twice in a row, the session stops instead of showing you misleading results.
Temperature watch
On NVIDIA graphics cards the temperature is read every 2 seconds and a test stops above your limit (80, 87 or 92 °C). AMD and Intel cards aren't read yet. Their own built-in protection still applies, and the app tells you when the watch isn't available.
Doesn't touch the running game
Frames are counted with Intel's open-source PresentMon, which reads timing events from Windows (Event Tracing for Windows). FrameForge injects nothing into the game and doesn't read its memory. The only thing it changes is the same settings file the game's own menu writes.
Play offline while testing
We can't promise how every anti-cheat system reacts. The app tells you to test only in offline, practice or workshop modes, never in ranked or online matches.
F9 only when needed
Many games use F9 for quick-save. FrameForge only listens for F9 while it's waiting for you to start a test, and releases it straight after.
Everything stays on your PC
FrameForge is a desktop app, not a website. All the parts it needs come inside the installer.
What you need
To use FrameForge
- System
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Games
- Steam versions of supported games
- Permission
- The installer adds you to Windows' built-in "Performance Log Users" group, which PresentMon needs to count frames. Restart once after installing.
- Disk space
- Roughly 1 GB, mostly the bundled AI runtime (exact size known after the first release build)
- Internet
- Only to download the installer
Good to know
- Temperature watch
- NVIDIA cards only for now
- Best results
- When your graphics card limits your frame rate. If your processor is the limit, graphics settings change little, and FrameForge will show that.
- Picture quality %
- An estimate from how much each setting typically affects the image. It isn't measured from your screen.
Questions
Will it make my games faster?
It finds the fastest combination of the game's own settings that meets the picture quality you chose, on your PC. How much faster depends on your hardware and game. If your settings are already about as fast as possible, or your processor is the limit, the result will say so and recommend no change.
Can my game or my settings get damaged?
The settings file is backed up before anything changes, and the original is restored after every session, including after a stop or a crash. "Put my original settings back" restores the copy from your very first session with that game, at any time.
Can I get banned?
FrameForge doesn't inject into or read the game's memory. It edits the normal settings file and counts frames through Windows Event Tracing. We can't guarantee how every anti-cheat behaves, so test only in offline or practice modes.
Does it send my data anywhere?
No. There is no account, no server and no analytics. The AI model runs on your PC, with network access blocked inside it.
Why not just use my graphics driver's "optimize" button?
Driver tools pick settings from your hardware model, which is quick and convenient. FrameForge instead measures your PC in the scene you choose. Use whichever suits you. FrameForge can also tell you whether its result beats what you have now.
Which games are supported?
Counter-Strike 2 and Palworld (Steam) in early support. Each game needs a small support file describing its settings, so more can be added without changing the app.
